Two men who boarded a train together have been found dead at a major Sydney train station.
Emergency services were called to a toilet cubicle on a train that had just terminated at Central station about 2.10pm on Friday.
Inside the cubicle, they found an unresponsive man, aged 40. Officers tried to revive him, but he died at the scene.
About an hour later a second man, also aged 40, was found unresponsive in the male toilets on the station’s country concourse. Attempts to revive the man were also unsuccessful.
Police said the men knew each other and boarded the train together in Woy Woy on NSW’s Central Coast. The trip to Sydney takes about an hour and 15 minutes.
Post mortems will be conducted to officially determine how the men died, but police believe it was from a drug overdose.
The men have been identified and detectives said early investigations have not suggested any suspicious circumstances.
