FOOD, glorious foodand beverages will becelebrated to the maxthis weekend as theannual Tastings onHastings on Sunday presentsthe best the regionhas to offer.
This year’s theme is -Our Story, Our Soul, OurFood – and incorporatesthe people,stories andheritage that have influencedour diverse culinaryoffering.
At a sponsors’ gathering PortMacquarie-HastingsCouncil mayor PeterBesseling congratulatedcoordinator NeciaWaghorn for snaringcelebrity television chefPeter Kuruvita for theevent cooking demonstrationsat 11am and1pm on Sunday and thesold out Tastings Dinneron Saturday evening,both at Fig Bar.
“Tastings on Hastingsis about celebratingwhat’s good in our community,”Cr Besselingsaid.
He added that peopleare now coming toPortMacquarie specifically forthe event.
Port Macquarie-Hastings Council has presentedthe event for adecade and mayorBesseling said sponsorshipfrom local businesseshas more thandoubled this year.
“Special thanks alsogo to our fellow presentingsponsors CassegrainWines, Coast FrontRealty, Doppio orNothing Espresso,Marketplace Events andPye Provedores,” he said.
Ms Waghorn said theemphasis this year is onthe event being moresustainable.
“With more than15,000 visitors expected,and countless tastingsplates, drinks, local productsand produce forsale.”
There will be non-stopentertainment.Roll up at the TownGreen end of HortonStreet and ClarenceStreet from 9am until4pm on Sunday.
